Roman Shades

The Roman shade is the most distinctly tailored of all window treatments. When lowered, it presents a flat, smooth expanse of fabric across the window — clean and uninterrupted. When raised, it folds into neat horizontal pleats that stack at the top with quiet elegance.

Unlike pleated or roller shades, the Roman shade is fundamentally a fabric treatment — and the choice of fabric defines the entire result. A Roman shade in a sheer linen creates an airy, diffused feel. The same shade in a richly textured wool becomes a statement piece. We source fabrics from our curated library and work with you to select the right weight, weave, and color for your space.

Roman shades are best suited for standard windows where the full inward tilt of a tilt & turn window is not required — or for outside-mount installations where the shade hangs above the window frame entirely. For active tilt & turn windows, we recommend our frame-mounted pleated or honeycomb systems instead.

All Roman shades are custom-made to your exact window dimensions. Lining options include unlined, privacy-lined, blackout-lined, and thermal-lined versions. Motorization is available for larger or hard-to-reach installations.
