Energy-Efficient & Beautiful
Honeycomb Shades
Dual-layer insulating cells that diffuse light beautifully while keeping your home comfortable year-round.
How They Work
The most energy-efficient window shade available.
Honeycomb shades — also called cellular shades — take their name from their cross-section: air-filled hexagonal cells stacked between two layers of fabric. This construction creates a layer of insulating air that reduces heat transfer through your windows in both summer and winter.
Our specialty honeycomb system is approximately 1 inch (25mm) deep and selected inside-mount configurations need only ½ inch (13mm) of secure mounting surface. More than 170 fabrics cover transparent, translucent, privacy, and blackout categories. The double-layer cells conceal the tension cords, so no cords run across the visible glass.
For tilt & turn windows, the shade attaches at all four corners and remains taut to the moving sash in both tilt and turn positions. Compatible paths include permanent inside mounts, adhesive strips, bonded plates, and specialty clips. The broader honeycomb collection includes special shapes, selected widths up to 90 inches, and rechargeable battery operation; order-specific limits depend on system and geometry.
